Puerto Peñasco, Mexico
Well I’m not positive, but I think I’ve driven over 1000 miles now since crossing into Mexico. It’s funny though because I haven’t really gone anywhere yet and I’m still less than an hour from the border. I did accieve success though in getting my T.I.P. finally after two days of trying. This allows me to continue south without having my motorcycle impounded.
It was super easy to get once you know where to find it. It took me over 300 miles of driving to find where it’s at. I marked it on google but it’s between the towns of Pitiquito and Altar on highway 2. There’s a custom/border patrol station there and is pretty big and new. It’s easy to miss though if you are driving westbound. Also there are no signs and the facility isn’t really manned yet There is a building in the middle, go in there looking for a Bancequito. That’s where you get it done. Took maybe 30 minutes, cost me just a little over $50 USD for the permit and they put a $400 USD hold on a credit card until I turn it in leaving the country.
Tomorrow will be the most south I have driven into Mexico. I’m pretty excited in what I might find. I tried to kiteboard today again without much success. This time I got blown downwind across the harbor so I had to flag down a taxi and waste 5 bucks getting back. Looks like I’ll be seeing Melissa on the 28th in Puerto Vallarta. Can’t wait!
Best Part: Temporary Import Permit complete.
Worst Part: Finally found a massage place, and it’s closed
